Jada Pinkett Smith has been married to her husband Will Smith for 21 years. And despite the ups and downs in the marriage, she admits that she is “not mature enough” to have endured a divorce.
In a preview of an upcoming episode of her Red Table Talk series, with guest Toni Braxton, the longtime friends have an honest discussion about divorce.
Although Braxton is currently engaged to fiance Birdman, she was married for 12 years to ex-husband Keri Lewis. The couple divorced in 2013.
“For me personally, I’m not mature enough to have a divorce,” Pinkett Smith said in the clip released Friday. “I’m just not. I don’t think I would ever be mature enough, I don’t.”
Will and Jada, who started dating in the mid-’90s, tied the knot in 1997 and have two children together –Jaden Smith, 20, and Willow Smith, 17–plus Will’s son, Tre, from a previous marriage. Pinkett Smith admits that the idea of separating assets would end up being too much for her.
Toni Braxton is joining us at the table to talk about her journey and experience with divorce. Check out the next Red Table Talk this Monday, only on Facebook Watch.

“Let me tell you, that’s when the red table turns upside down…and it won’t be red no more. This junk would be smashed in shambles…”
Pinkett Smith’s mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, also appears in the clip. She co-hosts the Facebook Watch show alongside Pinkett Smith and her daughter.
The new episode will air on Monday.
