It seems like not long ago that Corinne Foxx was a teenager accompanying her multi-talented father to Hollywood’s most notable events, but now, she’s forging her own path in entertainment.
On August 16, the 25-year-old actress and model will make her big-screen debut with the release of 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, in which she stars alongside Nia Long, Sophie Nelisse and Sistine Stallone, among others. Proud dad Jamie Foxx has recently begun celebrating his daughter’s big moment with several heartfelt posts on social media and as you might expect, he’s over the moon.
“Sitting next to my daughter and simultaneously watching her on screen was a proud papa tearjerking moment,” Fox wrote on Instagram in one of several posts praising his eldest daughter for her performance in the film. “My daughter looked at me as if to say… “DADDY I DID IT”… And I looked at her and screamed… “BABY YOU KILLED THAT SHIT!!!” he added later on the same post.
Speaking to reporters at the film’s Los Angeles premiere, Corrine weighed in on her dad’s reaction to the film and admitted that it’s taken her a few years to really embrace her last name as she works to carve her own lane.
“He’s so proud of me, he can’t even look at me without tearing up,” she told Variety. “I used to shy away from my last name. I really wanted to create a career for myself. [But] I’ve learned to embrace it in the last few years.”
