Jess Hilarious Under Fire After Claiming She Felt ‘Threatened’ By Sikh Men Boarding Plane
She was instantly condemned for statements in the videos in which she voiced her discomfort with the men’s presence. Her response? "F--k y’all. I feel how I feel."
Comedian and Rel actress Jess Hilarious is drawing ire online after posting a series of now-deleted videos where she claimed to feel “threatened” after witnessing four Sikh men, wearing turbans, board the same plane as her.
Her comments appeared particularly distasteful to the public just days after a vicious terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, left 50 people dead and 50 others wounded.
The Baltimore native was instantly condemned for statements in the videos where she voiced her discomfort with the men’s presence.
“F-ck y’all, I feel how I feel. I felt threatened and that was it. F-ck y’all,” she replied to critics in a post that has since been deleted from her account.
In an effort to justify her ill timed statements, Jess Hilarious posted another video.
“N-ggas know I’m never f-cking racist, but I spotted something, and I put it out earlier and we just got evacuated from our plane,” she said, adding that there was “no reason” given from the airline as to why the evacuation was taking place.
“So how ironic is it that we boarded the same plane and don’t see those people,” she added in a tone that one Twitter user dubbed “aggressively ignorant.”
Later she made a statement on her Instagram story, offering an apology for her comments. “Look y’all I’m not racist and never have I ever been,” she claimed. “We have Muslims in my family however I was totally unaware of the different types of Muslim so yes I admit I’m ignorant to the facts so teach me.”
“I got no one put off the f-ckin’ plane,” Jess Hilarious clarified. “I didn’t even say sh-t to anyone else on the f-ckin’ plane about how I felt! Again I’m sorry to ALL Muslims… deeply sorry! But I am not a racist loves.”
In addition to commenters pointing out that Sikhs are not Muslim, they also blasted Jess for her ignorance and insensitivity towards the Muslim community and all of those affected by the effects of the recent hate against them.
See how Black Twitter responded below.
Just saw that disgusting video of Jess Hilarious getting the brothers wearing turbans kicked off the plane because “she was scared.” I really hope this costs her a bag. I am absolutely appalled. Baltimore doesn’t claim her.
Getting four Sikhs off a plane because she felt threatened shows the incredible stupidity of @jess_hilarious. The airline should have drop kicked her ass off the plane. https://t.co/Z7fySepfDn
#JessHillarious mocking of Sikhs’ religious attire and confusing them with Muslim and propagating terror and fear is despicable. This is especially true after the in ice the murders of 50 Muslims in New Zealand 🇳🇿.
This isn’t the first time Jess Hilarious has been accused of being hateful. She recently was accused of being homophobic after responding to a hater on Instagram by calling him a gay slur.
