If you’re looking for a card for that special someone or just need to send a thank you to a friend, Jill Scott has what you’re looking for.
The singer is launching her own line of Hallmark Mahogany greeting cards as she follows in the footsteps of writer and activist Maya Angelou, telling The Salt Lake Tribune, “She was a phenomenal writer.” They also share the same birthday: “I was proud of that being an Aries sister. I also wanted to create cards I felt represented things a sista would say.”

The Grammy-winning singer was approached by Hallmark five years ago, but she wasn’t able to meet with the company until last year to hash out ideas. The cards will feature personalized messages written by Scott and curated from her songs.
“People still like to give cards. There are some traditionalists. Some things just don’t go out of style. Cards are a part of life,” she added.
