Jussie Smollett is riding high following the release of his debut album, Sum of My Music, which dropped March 2.
The album is a soulful blend of pop, hip-hop, and R&B that mesmerizes listeners. The album’s first single, “Freedom,” dropped back in February and Smollett later followed up the hit with “Catch Your Eye,” featuring Swizz Beatz.
To celebrate his new album, Smollett stopped by Okayplayer for a special performance before hitting the streets of New York and surprising a few subway riders.
Speaking with Broadway World, the actor said of his new album, “I’m releasing just a piece of who I am with this project and I just want people to hear it, feel it and vibe with it. All I want them to feel is the love put into this. Anything else is just gravy.”
Check out his incredible performance and cross your fingers that you’re one day lucky enough to ride the subway with Smollett.
