Sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey became YouTube sensations by covering artists like Chrsitina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and John Legend. They were signed to Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment after Bey discovered them doing a YouTube rendition of “Pretty Hurts.”

Now Chloe, 17, and Halle, 16—who have also appeared in films like Joyful Noise, Meet the Browns, The Last Holiday and The Fighting Temptations—have released their debut EP, Sugar Symphony. The five-song set consists of original tunes like first single “Drop,” which was produced by Chloe.
Chloe x Halle join a star-studded lineup at this year’s ESSENCE Fest, which will take place June 30-July 3 in New Orleans. The July 4th weekend extravaganza features headlining performances by Maxwell (July 1), Mariah Carey (July 2) and Kendrick Lamar (July 3), as well as an epic finale with Puff Daddy & the Family.
