Former Love & Hip-Hop star Kimberly Michelle Pate, also known as “K. Michelle,” was recently honored by her alma mater, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (Florida A&M).
The Tallahassee-based University honored the singer, songwriter and television personality with a Distinguished Alumni Award. This year’s annual gala was held in Baltimore, Maryland on May 26.
Michelle shared in a social media post that she was “truly humbled to be an honoree.”
The entertainer is not only a graduate of the Florida-based historically Black college, but she also served as the school’s Miss Florida A&M more than a decade ago. There, she also became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Michelle was amongst the nine honorees to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, which recognizes the contributions, achievements and benchmark alumni whose accomplishments have brought honor to the College.
“They have carved out a niche in their respective fields, and they have a genuine interest in changing the lives of others,”FAMU’s National Alumni Association President Lt. Col. Gregory L. Clark said about the honorees.
