• Kanye West and girlfriend Kim Kardashian found themselves in trouble with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) yesterday. The power couple was caught up in a security breach at New York’s John F. Kennedy airport after a TSA employee allowed them to skip a routine security checkpoint between flights. “An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flights,” said a TSA spokesman. Although the breach was not their fault, the couple was forced off the plane and was screened “privately.” Ultimately, the snafu delayed their plane to Los Angeles by one hour. [People]
• Rihanna, Frank Ocean and Miguel are enjoying tremendous sales increases after their Grammy performances Sunday night. Rihanna performed her current single “Stay” and has since sold nearly 67,000 copies of it. Frank Ocean’s sales rose 140 percent while Miguel’s “Adorn” moved 44,000 copies this week. [Vibe]
• Rosa Parks will be the first African-American woman to be honored with a statue on Capitol Hill. According to an announcement via House Speaker John Boehner, the Parks statue will be dedicated on February 27 in the National Statuary Hall of the U.S. Capitol. [Architect of the Capitol]
