Karrueche Tran has been granted a restraining order against ex Chris Brown.
According to TMZ, Tran testified before a judge on Thursday, stating that after she broke up with Brown the singer began texting violent threats and demanding that she return gifts.
Tran claims Brown sent threats like, “B—h I will beat the s—t out of you,” “I can get my money back and I’m tired of playing games,” and “I promise you I will make your life hell.”
Brown also allegedly threatened the actress over a photo she shared on Instagram in which she posed next to actor Michael B. Jordan. Brown allegedly wrote under the photo, “Imma kill blood.”
Tran also testified that Brown had assaulted her.
Brown’s attorney, David Gammill, grilled Tran about allegedly taunting Brown over rings, which Tran insists were gifts. Gammill also questioned why she never reported Brown’s behavior. Tran stated that she feared for her safety and needed permanent protection.
A report from the ACLU shows that victims of domestic violence often don’t come forward because they face widespread and serious police discrimination. An issue that is also reflected in our society.
Tran’s restraining order against Brown will stay in place for the next five years.
