Kendrick Lamar is giving back again, this time gifting a fan with a wheelchair-accessible van.
Jennifer Phillips, a quadriplegic injured a decade ago in a car accident, launched a GoFundMe in April to raise money for a van. Phillips, a longtime fan of Lamar, was invited backstage during Lamar’s DAMN. tour stop in Dallas, where he revealed to Phillips that he a purchased the van.
Lamar also gifted Phillips a signed jacket with a personal note that read, “Thank you for always supporting me. Your a inspiration for me. You are strong and positive. You’re kind and beautiful. For all the years of inspiring me, the least I can do is make sure you’re comfortable driving in the city. A gift from me to you. You’re always appreciated! — K. Lamar.”
Phillips shared the moment on Instagram, writing, “This is amazing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all and always will. Thank God for you Kendrick and I will continue to pray for you.”
Lamar also donated $50,000 to his alma mater Centennial High School in 2015— he also invited students from the school to the Grammys last year.
