Kevin Hart is the first to admit that in his marriage to ex wife Torrei Hart, he didn’t do all he could to earn husband of the year.
The funny man admitted in a recent interview with Chelsea Handler that he was the one who “messed up” his marriage and is man enough to take blame for it.
“I’m not ashamed to say it, guys,” he told the talk show host in her Netflix series, Chelsea. “I got married at the age of 22. I was still all over the place. I didn’t really understand the definition of marriage. I wasn’t ready for it, so I take responsibility. I can say I messed my first marriage up. I’m man enough to say that.”
At the time of swapping vows in 2003, he and Torrei were both young and in love but sadly that wasn’t enough to keep them together.
“At the same time, that was when I was in the prime of my sexy, so don’t blame me. That’s when I was figuring it out.”
The parents of daughter Heaven and son Hendrix divorced in 2011 and have since set aside any animosity from their marriage and divorce for the sake of their children.

“I will say that me and my ex-wife, regardless of the problems we went through, are in an amazing place now where we’re friends, we’re great parents, we’re coparents,” he explained.
Hart said “I do” the second time around to Eniko Parrish in a lavish Santa Barbara ceremony this summer and shared with Chelsea that he hopes his love life with the woman he calls his “rib” is “right” forever and always.
“I’m going to do it right, I’m going to do it properly.”
