In October, Kid Cudi sparked conversation about Black men and mental health when he checked himself into rehab and revealed he’d been battling mental illness.
“Yesterday I checked myself into rehab for depression and suicidal urges. I am not at peace,” he wrote on Facebook. “I haven’t been since you’ve known me. If I didn’t come here, I would’ve done something to myself. I simply am a damaged human swimming in a pool of emotions everyday of my life.”
After sharing that he felt ashamed about his mental health, fans and friends took to Twitter to wish him well and applaud him for talking about the issue. Now, Cudi is thanking everyone for their support. After leaving rehab, the rapper took to Facebook again to shout out friends and his fans:

“Thank You for opening your hearts and extending your love and support during a troubling time. I wanted to let yall know it meant the world to me,” he wrote. “I have nothing but love for you. Words can’t really express how much it made my heart glow. I look forward to better days. Feelin’ great and brand new. Can’t wait to run into each and everyone of you and deliver a big hug. Be ready! Peace, love and light to all!!”
We’re happy Cudi’s feeling better and look forward to seeing him thrive.
