The death of model and actress Kim Porter was caused by lobar pneumonia, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said Friday.
Porter was found dead in her Toluca Lake, California home last November. She was 47.
Authorities did not know the cause of death for months until they announced on Friday that she died of lobar pneumonia. The manner of death has been certified as natural.
An autopsy was completed on Porter a day after she was found dead, but her death certificate previously stated her cause of death as “deferred.” She had been suffering from flu-like symptoms for days at the time of her death.
Porter dated Diddy on-and-off for years, becoming the mother of three of his children —20-year-old Christian Combs, and 11-year-old twins, D’Lila, and Jessie Combs. Combs also considered Porter’s eldest son, Quincy Brown, to be one of his children as well.
“God broke the mold when he made Kim, there was truly no other woman like her,” Diddy said in a statement last year. “Although her time here on earth was far too short, she lived a life full of purpose and meaning. She was a loving mother and devoted friend.”
Her family and friends all gathered for a beautiful funeral at Cascade Hills Church in Porter’s hometown last November.
