*UPDATE:* A source close to the family has confirmed that the official funeral service for Kim Porter will take place this Saturday, November 24 at 11AM at Cascade Hills Church in her hometown of Columbus, GA.
One of Kim Porter’s closest friends, model Kimora Lee Simmons, is shedding light on the late model and actress’ memorial service, which took place last Sunday at Diddy’s home in L.A.
Simmons took to Instagram to reflect, writing in a caption: “At your homegoing celebration today it became all too real that you are not coming back. I cannot stop crying but I will be strong for you. Gone WAY too soon. Wtf. I am in shock.”
The mother of four then had a message for Porter in the lengthy caption of a photo stack that included pics from when the two modeled, along with their exes and their children.
“To my beautiful friend and sister, I love you. This is unbelievable. When I first heard the news, I was angry that someone would play such a stupid a*s joke,” the 43-year-old model and former reality show star wrote. “This is all too close and too sad. Your light was a beaming beacon for so many. You are A WHOLE MOOD!”
Simmons called Porter, who was well known and well liked within the hip-hop community, a “girls’ girl,” and also promised to look after her four children — three with hip-hop mogul Diddy, and her eldest, Quincy Brown, with Al B. Sure!
“We are so alike in so many ways: We shared clothes, food, attitudes, friends, enemies, the greatest happinesses and the worst sadnesses,” she wrote. “We’ve been married, given birth, raised families, gotten divorced, experienced death and everything in between-together. You are a great mama. Between us we have 8 kids who are all cousins. We are, and will always be – a family. I will look after yours and you will look after and guide us all.”
Simmons concluded her tribute by writing: What a beautiful, loving, sassy soul to have lost. We love you forever. May God bless your journey. We will never stop crying for you.”
