The final Young and the Restless episode starring Kristoff St. John will air Wednesday on CBS.
St. John played Neil Winter, the ladies man who was also a struggling alcoholic, since 1991. The role earned him a number of nominations, including a Daytime Emmy Award in 1992 for outstanding younger actor in a drama series.
The actor’s body was found in his San Fernando Valley home earlier this week after a friend went to check on him. Paramedics later announced him dead at the scene. He was 52.
The cause of death has yet to be released by the medical examiner.
Days before his death, St. John had sought treatment for his depression —which was partly linked to coping with his son Julian’s suicide in 2014.
The Young and the Restless also announced that it will broadcast a special tribute to St. John during Friday’s episode.
