Coming away with a loss after giving it your all is always a tough pill to swallow, but nothing helps keep things in perspective like having loved ones in your corner who lift you up no matter what.
LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to their fourth consecutive NBA Finals this season, where the Eastern Conference champs went head to head with the Golden State Warriors yet again. Despite an unprecedented performance from LeBron throughout the 2017-2018 season, the Cavs came up short in all of their four NBA Finals games, leaving the Warriors to claim the title of NBA champions for the third time in four years.
While it may have been LeBron’s teammates who shouldered the frustrating loss with him, it was none other than the two most important women in his life who captured his immediate attention following the close of game 4 on Friday night.
In a video clip that’s currently making its’ way across social media, the proud father and husband is seen blocking out just about everyone (other than his sons) as he makes a beeline for the Cavs’ locker room. But even in the midst of what was surely a somber moment for the NBA superstar, he still took a pause to greet his mother, Gloria…
…and kiss his wife, Savannah, who were each there to welcome him with smiles and encouraging words.
Looks like LBJ wins off the court no matter what the scoreboard says.
