If you watched Avengers: Infinity War, then you witnessed several of your Marvel faves vanish after Thanos’ powerful snap, including Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa.
At London’s MCM Comic Con, Black Panther star Letitia Wright, who plays Wakandan princess and resident tech wiz Shuri, says the young warrior could potentially step up if the throne remains vacant.
“To be comic-book accurate, yes,” she said when asked, reports Shadow And Act. In the books, Shuri becomes Black Panther in T’Challa’s absence and rules Wakanda with great intellect and martial arts skills.
In the sit-down, she also speaks on fans’ excitement over her being a bonafide Disney princess. “I realized that everyone’s just so geeked about having a different kind of female character in the Marvel universe and the Disney universe,” she says. “I’m so honored, seriously. I grew up on the Disney movies and grew up with the Disney Princesses and they didn’t really look like me. But now, you can go buy action figures and say ‘this is a Disney Princess’ – right on!”
Trust. While fans would be sad if Black Panther never returned, seeing Shuri take on the role would be silver screen gold.
