One of our favorite moments from the 2020 ESSENCE x Pepsi She Got Now Virtual HBCU Homecoming experience was the “Dear Black Men” segment with multi-talented R&B singer Mario and radio host DJ Envy.

During the brief but pointed conversation, Mario spoke candidly about the positive impact that being raised primarily by his grandmother has had on his life, his new album and how he’s been managing during quarantine. He also shared a pointed message about the importance of Black men being intentional about supporting Black women, even and especially in the midst of the most challenging times.
