Meghan Markle doesn’t need her husband Prince Harry to get the job done. In her first foray into public royal work alone, she’s focused on a project devoted to women.
The Duchess of Sussex has written the foreword to Together: Our Community Cookbook, a collection of recipes from the women at the Hubb Community Kitchen in West London.
The community kitchen is run by a group of women who’ve suffered from Grenfell Tower tragedy, in which 72 people lost their lives after the tower was engulfed in flames. The kitchen feeds the families of those displaced by the event.
A video features women from the kitchen sharing their stories and reasons for becoming involved along with Markle, who joins the women in cooking meals.

A source told People that Markle has “been heavily involved in the project from the start.”
Proceeds from the cookbook will allow the kitchen to be open seven days a week.
