She’s one of the most popular women in the world, with a loving husband who happens to be the leader of the free world. But when People magazine asked the First Lady if she could be anyone else in the world, she had one simple answer: Beyoncé.
“Gosh. If I had some gift, I’d be Beyoncé,” she said. “I’d be some great singer. The power of music, being able to play an instrument… it looks like musicians just have the most fun.” And speaking of music, Mrs. Obama shared that her husband serenades her all the time. “Sometimes I can’t get him to stop singing,” she said of the President.
It’s no secret that Mrs. Obama and Beyoncé are pals. Beyoncé recently penned a letter to the First Lady thanking her for being a shining example of Black women everywhere.
“She is a caring mother, she’s a loving wife, while at the the same time, she is the First Lady,” wrote Beyoncé, who’s currently prepping for this weekend’s quad of concerts in Atlantic City. “Thank you so much for every single thing that you do for us. I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to.”
Looks like Mrs. Obama looks up to Beyoncé, too.
