After one big fat lie, season nine of The Real Housewives of Atlanta will probably go down as one of the most explosive seasons ever of the franchise.
On the final episode of the four-part reunion, viewers learned that Phaedra Parks was the source of the lie that Kandi Burruss and husband Todd Tucker wanted to drug Porsha Williams for their sexual conquest.
On Friday, Burruss told US Weekly that that lie almost caused her to leave the hit reality show.
“During season 9, I was feeling like I might want to leave because there was so much hate from fans online and I was having trouble because, how do you defend yourself from a lie?,” she asked. “How do you defend yourself from something that never happened?”
However after the truth was revealed, Burruss decided to stay on the show.
“I’ve never had drama like that that lasted the whole season. It was very sh–ty,” Burruss explained. “But now I’m extremely happy that people were able to see the truth.”
Burruss will soon be starring on another Bravo reality show alongside the members of Xscape. The singing group is also headed on tour this summer with their debut reunion concert at ESSENCE Fest 2017.
Season 10 of RHOA will return this fall with Kim Zolciak-Biermann, and NeNe Leakes is also rumored to return to the show. Parks will allegedly not be returning.
