While protests in Ferguson continue, and the world waits with bated breath for the grand jury decision, a 7-year-old violinist is hoping to bring some peace to the city through her music.
Leah Flynn of Sanford, Florida, saw the protests in Ferguson following the shooting death of Michael Brown and wanted to help any way she could.
“She said to me, ‘Mom, what’s going on?’ And I explained to her, because I have to—I told her what’s going,” her mother, Paula Flynn told WOFL. “She said, ‘But it’s not right these people look so sad; maybe I could do something for them.”
Now Leah wants to go to Ferguson and play the song her father taught her on her violin, “Let There Be Peace.”
“There’s a lot of scariness there and violence and fighting, so I really just want them to have peace and happiness,” Leah said.
