President Obama has an important message to share with Americans: Happy Thanksgiving! In his weekly address, the president took the time to share what he’s thankful for with the American people.
“Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because more than any other, it is uniquely American,” President Obama said. “He all share this day united by our gratitude for the bounty of this nation.”
The president shared that he and his family go out to serve the people in the community before enjoying their own Thanksgiving dinner.
“This generosity, this compassion, this belief that we are our brother’s keeper, is essential to who we are not just on this day but every other day,” the president said.
President Obama also expressed the importance of citizens standing together on this day, united for the benefit of this country.
“It’s easy to focus on what separates us but as we gather with loved ones on this Thanksgiving, let’s remember to be grateful for what binds us together,” he said. “Our love of country, our commitment to justice and equality, our belief that America’s best days are ahead and that her destiny.”
