Whitney Houston would be celebrating her 49th birthday today and the cast of Sparkle is paying her a special tribute. In an interview with Bossip, Houston’s Sparkle co-star Mike Epps sings Stevie Wonder’s version of “Happy Birthday” alongside Omari Hardwick and Derek Luke.
Next, the ladies of the cast — Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter and Carmen Ejogo — sing a soulful version of the original birthday song.
Epps adds that his favorite memory of Houston was simply working with her everyday. “It was like working with an all-star,” added Luke.
