Marcus Canty, the fourth runner-up from X-Factor 2011, has released a video for his brand spanking new single, “In & Out.”

The high-energy clip, featuring rapper Wale, marks what many hope to be his lead single from his forthcoming album. This past spring, ESSENCE.com caught up with the new R&B sensation in the making and he revealed his debut album was coming along quite nicely. In fact, he said be prepared to hear music that’ll rival Beyoncé’s signature sound. “As for what I want [my debut album] to sound like? I always bring up Beyoncé’s ‘Love On Top.’ It’s so versatile to where they can play it in so many different places and people will love it,” said Canty.

Above all, Canty hopes to tell a story with his new album. “Nowadays storytelling is what carries people further in life. Storytelling is making people feel good when you see it in the records. I just want to make the ladies feel nice.”
