Naya Rivera was allegedly “drinking” and “out of control” on the night of her arrest, according to a 911 call reportedly placed by her husband Ryan Dorsey.
On Saturday evening, Dorsey, 34, called 911 about Rivera’s behavior and requested that a police officer be dispatched to the scene.
“I just need a police officer. My wife’s out of control,” Dorsey said in his call to police, which was obtained by TMZ.
During the phone call, Dorsey confirmed to the officer that Rivera, 30, was “getting physical” and said that no weapons were present.
Dorsey’s dad was also present, but Dorsey did not claim Rivera was acting violent with his father.
“Got a disturbance in Chesapeake. Caller’s saying his wife is causing problems in the residence, has been drinking,” an officer said in the audio. “Last info, call taker could hear a disturbance in the background and had an open line. Lost connection and just getting a busy signal.”
A media relations officer for the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office could not confirm that Rivera was intoxicated, but told PEOPLE “that’s what the officer on scene was lead to believe.” A field sobriety test did not occur.
Rivera’s rep did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
On Tuesday, Dorsey addressed the incident in a statement on Twitter: “This is a difficult time for everyone in the family especially for Naya and I. This isn’t some reality show, this is our life, and I ask that everyone especially ‘the media’ please respect our privacy and treat us/this situation how you would want a loved one to be treated. Perhaps with kindness, respect, without judgment, and as negative a situation this is, with positivity and love. Thanks. -RD”
According to a criminal complaint previously obtained by PEOPLE, the former Glee star was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after she allegedly hit Dorsey while taking their son, 2-year-old son Josey, for a walk.
In the document, a Charleston, West Virginia, police deputy said that after he arrived on the scene Saturday around 9:33 p.m., Dorsey said that his wife “had struck him in the head and the bottom lip while the two were taking their child for a walk down the street.”
“Ryan provided me with a cell phone video recording of Ryan being struck by Naya. I then detained Naya and charged her with domestic battery,” the officer added.
Sgt. B.D. Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office told PEOPLE Sunday afternoon that “the two were arguing over their child.”
Rivera married Dorsey three months after her engagement with Big Sean ended. Dorsey and Rivera first dated in 2010 before going their separate ways while she starred on Glee.
Just over a year after tying the knot, Rivera announced in November 2016 that she and Dorsey were getting divorced.
“After much consideration, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” the couple told PEOPLE in a statement. “Our priority is and always will be our beautiful son that we share together. We will continue to be great co-parenting partners for him. We ask for respect and privacy for our family during this difficult time.”
However, the couple called off the proceedings and reconciled in October.
