Nicki Minaj Has Been Quietly Donating Money To Help An Indian Village
"This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud," Minaj said on Instagram.
Nicki Minaj is one of them, but she recently gave a glimpse into a project she’s been working on for years.
The 34-year-old has been donating money to villages in southern and northern India to support education, employment and health through water wells. She shared the progress of her giving on Instagram, which was facilitated through Brooklyn-based pastor, Pastor Lydia Sloley.
“This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud,” Minaj said on Instagram.
“The money I’ve sent to this village in India for the last couple years [via my Pastor Lydia Sloley], has gotten them a Computer Center, a Tailoring Institute, a Reading Program and 2 WATER WELLS. We complain about the most ridiculous little things when some ppl don’t even have clean water. Blessings to India. Our work is far from done. I’ll tell you guys more about my charity work in the near future in case you’d like to be a part of it.”
In another post, she shares women in the village she helped with their sewing machines.
“I’m so proud of our sisters in India,” she said. “God is so good. Their desire was to have water wells and places where they can worship, places where they can learn technology, computers, reading, etc. We’re just getting started. These women are us and we are them!”
It was only a few weeks ago when the rapper jumped on Twitter to pay off thousands of dollars in students loans, once those requested showed proof of need and GPA.
Soon after, Minaj announced she’d be creating a charity for student loans and tuition payments.
Unbeknownst to many of us, there are celebrities who give to those in need, without broadcasting it.
