Oprah 2020? That could happen!
Although Oprah Winfrey has always dismissed any questions of a presidential run, she said that seeing President Donald Trump’s successful bid for the White House has made her rethink her own possibilities.
“I actually never thought that that was — I never considered the conversation even a possibility. I just thought, oh, oh,” she said in a conversation with billionaire David Rubenstein on Bloomberg’s “The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations” in December.
A big part of her apparent change of heart is that she thought “you had to know so much more than I thought you had to know,” she said.
“It’s clear that you don’t need government experience to be elected president of the United States, right?” Rubenstein said.

“That’s what I thought. I thought, ‘Oh gee, I don’t have the experience, I don’t know enough,’” Winfrey said in the interview taped in December. “And now I’m thinking, ‘Oh! Oh.’”
But by January, Winfrey had changed her tune again when asked about running for president on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
“Never!” she said over and over.
We think 2020 is still enough time for her to stew on it a little longer.
