Oprah can still get anybody to weep like a baby. Pharrell just couldn’t hold it together on Oprah Prime last night as he told her how blessed he feels about the worldwide reception to his song, ‘Happy.’ Fans have been making their own renditions of the song, from Dakar, Senegal to Detroit.
“It’s overwhelming, because it’s like I love what I do, and I just appreciate the fact that people have believed in me for so long that I could make it to this point to feel that,” Pharrell told Oprah.
The Oscar-nominated producer called the hit song a “crazy half court shot” where he just took a chance. “That’s what happened,” he continued. “I hit zero. And I just hit a place of openness because I had nothing else left.”
