President Obama Delivers Father's Day Message, Says 'No More Kids'

In his weekly address, President Barack Obama spoke about Father’s Day and described his experiences raising his two daughters, Malia and Sasha. “I’ve tried so hard to be a good dad for my own children. I haven’t always succeeded, of course. In the past, my job has kept me away from home more often than I liked, and the burden of raising two young girls would sometimes fall too heavily on Michelle,” the President said.

He also encouraged fathers to spend more time with their children, even through trying circumstances.

“Our kids are pretty smart. They understand that life won’t always be perfect, that sometimes, the road gets rough, that even great parents don’t get everything right,” he said.

The White House’s new Fatherhood initiative aims to help dads connect with their families by offering special discounts, movie screenings, and honoring those men who truly take responsibility as fathers.

The day before, President Obama appeared on “Good Morning America,” where he revealed that we shouldn’t expect any more kids at the White House. When asked if he would like to have a son, the President responded, “You know, you act as if this is a decision of mine. This really isn’t… I think what Michelle’s general view is, we’re done.”

He also said that he couldn’t ask for better kids than Sasha and Malia, but when they start dating, he’s glad they will do it in the White House where there are plenty of “men with guns.”
