This is the first public reaction from The White House since the sudden death of Whitney Houston on Saturday.
Following the pop icon’s death, eighteen-year-old Bobbi Kristina, Whitney Houston’s only child, was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital where she was treated and released for a stress-induced panic attack.
Although it’s unclear whether or not the Obamas and Houstons were acquainted, the news has the President deeply concerned.
“It’s a tragedy to lose somebody so talented at such a young age,” says Carney.
Whitney Houston was 48 years old at the time of her death. Her body was flown back to the New Jersey yesterday and funeral arrangements are pending.
