The real Keke from Drake’s mega-hit “In My Feelings” is finally speaking out about her epic song shout-out — admitting that she was just as surprised as the rest of us to hear her name.
When Drake first asked if Keke loved him in his hit summer song, speculation over who she was became a bloodsport.
Kim Kardashian West was even embroiled in the mess, with many, including Snoop Dogg, insinuating that she might be the one Drake was calling out. (And if you remember, Kanye West was not happy about it)!
But it turns out that 24-year-old Oakland resident K’yanna Barber, who has known the rapper for about three years, was the lady on Drake’s mind.
“I was kind of surprised by it myself when I heard it,” she said in an interview on Power 106 Los Angeles. “I was sitting in the living room with my son, my brother, my mom. We was just listening to the album like everybody else. You know, it’s Drake. He dropped new music. You listen to it.”
When she first heard her name on the song, Barber said that she dismissed it because there are “a lot of little Kekes running around in everybody hood.”

But when Drake mentioned her initials in the hook, KB, she knew he was referring to her.
“When we heard ‘KB’ that’s when my mom started going crazy because that’s my actual initials,” she said, noting that she had met Drake through the rapper Kamaiyah.
As for whether she loves Drake, the key question to the song’s hook, Barber teased, “I feel like he knows the answer.”
