Rapper Remy Ma is scheduled to go on trial this summer for allegedly assaulting her Love & Hip Hop: New York co–star, Brittney Taylor.
According to TMZ, Remy, whose birth name is Reminisce Mackie, was charged Friday with two counts of third-degree assault, one count of second-degree aggravated harassment, and a final count of second-degree harassment.
However, Remy has reportedly turned down a deal that would have her plead guilty to the assault charge for the other three counts to be dropped. She has denied the incident, saying Taylor has no “credible evidence” of it.
The alleged incident is said to have taken place during a benefit concert last month in New York’s Irving Plaza hosted by Remy’s friend and collaborator Fat Joe. Taylor told the New York Daily News that she was treated for minor injuries, including a bruised right eye after Remy punched her in the face over a misunderstanding regarding an incident involving Smith’s step-daughter Dejanae.
Earlier this month, Remy surrendered to authorities, later posting $1500 cash bail.
New York State’s Division of Parole told TMZ that the incident might be a violation of Remy’s parole and that they’re investigating. She has less than three months to finish on her parole after previously serving six years for intentional assault following a 2008 shooting.
Remy was seen leaving the New York City courthouse on Friday with husband Papoose following the hearing. The couple recently celebrated 11 years of marriage.
She is scheduled to go on trial on July 12.
