Beyoncé and JAY-Z going on tour together isn’t news to anyone who follows the pair, but information about what to expect did perk ears this week.
The superstar’s stepdad Richard Lawson spoke to People about the duo hitting the road and dished that the couple will “confront the hard subjects and the hard issues” during their On The Run II tour.
“Well, look at what they’ve been through in the last couple of years in terms of the things that they’ve confronted and the way that they’ve put it into art,” Lawson told People. “This is gonna be really a culmination of their growth and their ability to really confront the hard subjects and the hard issues.”
This is the second time the pair has gone on tour together. However, this time around, the couple will be doing so after the release of their most personal albums, Lemonade and 4:44. The albums dive into their marriage and tackle issues of infidelity and the struggle to keep a marriage intact after betrayal.
Lawson went on to describe his stepdaughter as “one of the sweetest people in the world.”
“She has more care and more concern and more love for humanity. She has more integrity, she’s a creative soul, she has a big, big, big, big, big vision about how to do things. She’s always moving the needle. I cannot tell you how proud I am of her and just how much I appreciate knowing such a large spirit. She’s an incredible human being.”
