Running into an ex-lover can either go well or be slightly awkward.
It appeared to be the latter for Rihanna, 29, and Drake, 30, who ran into each other at a child’s party this weekend.
While little is known about their on-and-off again relationship, the pair have always been respectful of their privacy. In February, Drake gave a birthday shoutout to the “Needed Me” singer during his concert — but they haven’t been publicly spotted together since last year.
In a recent video, RiRi and her best friend Melissa Forde are spotted walking into a backyard where the kids are already playing. Rihanna goes on to place one of the kids into ball pool— where it appears model, Tae Heckard is there as well with her 1-year-old son.
As reported by Us Weekly, the Barbados native and the Degrassi alum most recently called it quits on their on-off relationship in October 2016, just two months after he publicly professed his love for her at the MTV VMAs.
“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22-years-old,” he said at the VMAs. “She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her, even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry.”
“She doesn’t want to be held down,” a source close to Rihanna told the publication. A second insider added, “They will always be close. If they end up together, it could happen, but not now.”
