Rihanna appeared on Good Morning America today to chat about a myriad of topics including her new MAC Viva Glam campaign.
But perhaps the most interesting part of the Robin Roberts helmed interview came when the pop star got emotional over her recent Billboard Icon recognition.
“It is a very surreal felling,” she said. “It’s almost like I can’t touch it.. It was one of those moments where I felt like I was dreaming. It didn’t feel real. It still doesn’t feel real because I feel like I have so much more to do.”
The highly decorated singer says she’s humbled by the title, but now feels the pressure to deliver. “I have to live up to that,” explained Rihanna. “I have to keep making my fans proud.”
She’s certainly making her navy proud by winning new awards left and right. On Sunday night, Rihanna earned the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album for her latest project, Unapologetic. “I was home and was shocked,” said the Bajan native. “It was a surprisingly emotional experience… I was excited and glad to be excited at this point in my career.”
When asked if new music is in the works, Rihanna coyly said, “Music is what I love to do. So you never have to worry about that.”
