As if she needed another award to add to her collection of gold medals, Simone Biles, the epitome of Black Girl Magic, was recently named the Olympic Female Athlete of the Year by Team USA.
The award comes as no surprise as Biles has been killing it for years in gymnastics.
“Synonymous with making history, synonymous with AMAZING us all every time she competes,” Team USA tweeted last Tuesday. “GIVE IT UP for the 2019 Female Olympic Athlete of the Year, @Simone_Biles!”
Biles, who had two new moves named after her, has already won five gold medals at this year’s gymnastics world championships, making her the most decorated gymnast in world championship history with 25 medals total.
She even threw out the first pitch at the World Series, an honor she said made her more nervous than competitions.
“Gymnastics is the only sport I’ve ever done, so when it comes to anything else, I’m literally terrified,” she said before heading to the mound.
Sis is killing it, and we can’t wait to see what’s next in 2020.
