R&B singer Olivia shared some of her sorrow recently as she remembered her late mother, who died last month. She was 74.
The
Love & Hip Hop alum took to her Instagram to honor her mother.
“How do you heal from a broken heart?” she wrote under a series of photos of her mother and family. “I’m literally crying as I write this to you guys but I pray this will help me to get it out. I have been completely distraught & broken these past few weeks. My beautiful mom left this earth on October 9, 2018.”
The former G-Unit Records artist wrote that her mother was first diagnosed with early signs of Parkinson’s Disease in 2014, and was in slow decline since then.
But Olivia also used the post to highlight the Black Love she witnessed between her parents, whom were married for four decades.
“My dad is the epitome of true love and humbleness. He took such great care of her in sickness and in health,” she wrote. “My father misses his wife dearly & I truly miss my mom.”
She continued: “I know she is in a better place, with her Lord & Savior and no more suffering. But I do not know what to do without her. Please pray for me and my family. Lord help us through.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Olivia and her family.
