A week ago, Solange’s A Seat at the Table gave listeners a hearty serving of what it means – and all the grey areas in between – to be Black in White America.
Social media responded with a resounding “yasssss” as fans quickly began sharing their favorite songs, posting “Don’t Touch My Hair” inspired pics and just all around applauding Solange and her lyrical bravery.
But the love has translated to sales too.
The 21-track album currently sits at the top of the iTunes, Amazon and Google Music charts.
ASATT is also in constant rotation on streaming services. In fact, Pandora has had a 5519% increase in Solange-added stations and Pandora users have picked “Borderline (An Ode To Self Care)” featuring Q-Tip as the album’s top track.
With the release of videos for “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair,” Solange’s numbers will only go higher and one person who we can certainly count on to keep us posted on how her baby girl is winning is proud mom Tina Lawson.
