T-Pain is buying his family a lot more than drinks this holiday season. The singer-songwriter recently revealed that his brother was hospitalized for more than a month.
Although T-Pain didn’t share details about the nature of his brother’s illness or whether or not his condition had significantly improved, he did share on Instagram the ridiculous total for his brother’s medical bills, which were more than $1.4 million.
T-Pain first thanked the hospital staff for their assistance.
“I first wanna say thank you to all the ppl that were involved in keeping my brother alive,” he wrote in the caption of snapshots of the billing statements. “I can’t express enough gratitude to the medical staff that kept my family whole. My brother was in two hospitals for a total of a month and some change. Just got the bills.”
You can’t put a price on family, but T-Pain sharing his brother’s medical bills illuminate a bigger problem in the healthcare industry. Many people, whose brother isn’t T-Pain, simply can’t afford to get sick and in fact former President Barack Obama once said, “The cost of health care now causes a bankruptcy in America every 30 seconds.”
We’re just glad T-Pain is supporting his brother and we hope his brother gets well soon.
