We all know and grew to love Tamar Braxton for her amazing voice and as one of the Braxton sisters on their hit reality show, Braxton Family Values. But we also got to know the 40-year-old as one of the five co-hosts on The Real.
Alongside Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, Jeanie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley, the singer starred on the daytime talk show for the first two seasons. Braxton and husband Vince Herbert —who served as one of the executive producers— were fired from the popular talk show last spring, which started a dramatic stream of headlines and Twitter beefs.
In March it was announced that The Real was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for Season 2 and Braxton opened up about the season she still appeared on.
She told Hallmark’s Home & Family, “It doesn’t matter where I stand in my relationship with anybody. If I’m nominated and I win, I’m going up there to accept my award—period.”
Considering Braxton’s abrupt exit and discord with the remaining co-hosts, it’s interesting that Braxton is willing to put any hard feelings to the side.
“I’m going to be respectful and hopefully everyone else is going to be respectful because it’s a very amazing moment for everybody,” she said. “Everybody is not nominated in their life. You come to Hollywood, you have big dreams, but your nominated for a Daytime Emmy—are you kidding me?”
The Daytime Emmy Awards airs this Sunday April 30 at 8pm ET on Facebook Live and Twitter.
