A man who was shot and injured during the attack that killed Nipsey Hussle has been arrested due to his association with the late rapper.
According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department has taken Kerry Lathan into custody at a downtown L.A. jail. Lathan had just been released last month after serving 20 years on murder charges when he went to meet Hussle outside his Marathon Clothing store.
Hussle had apparently invited Lathan to the store to give him fresh clothes before meeting with friends and family.
That’s when Eric Holder, who has been charged with fatally shooting Hussle, showed up and killed the beloved rapper on March 31. Hussle, whose birth name was Ermias Asghedom, was 33. Nathan also sustained injuries from the shooting that left him in a wheelchair.
However, one of the stipulations of his parole was that he could not associate with known gang members. According to police, Nipsey belonged to the Rollin 60’s Crips.
Nathan was arrested this week at his halfway house. He’s currently waiting in jail as authorities try to revoke his parole.
