Tiffany Haddish says she almost got into a fight before Beyoncé stepped in.
The comedian told Vulture she was hanging out at an after party for Jay-Z’s 4:44 LA tour stop when ish went down, “Okay, so what had happened was, something had went down with somebody at the party, right? I’m not at liberty to say what had went down at the party, but Beyoncé was just telling me to have a good time,” she said.
Seems Haddish’s temper helped her score a selfie with Queen Bey, the one that went viral in December, and Bey’s decision to step in may have saved someone an ass whopping.
Haddish added that she was surprised the singer knew who she was, adding that the two joked about her wig. “We took the picture and I was like, ‘Is my wig slipping?’ And she was like, ‘Mmm-hmm.’ But she knew who I was,” Haddish said. “She came up to me and was like, ‘I think you are so funny, Tiffany Haddish.’ I was like, ‘What? You know me?!’ She said, ‘I’m Beyoncé.’ ‘I KNOW!’”
Haddish recently revealed that she and director Paul Thomas Anderson have been tossing around ideas after he passed her his number during the New York Film Critics Circle awards. She also shared an idea for a Shakespearean drama she hopes to make for HBO.
