Tiffany Haddish is addressing the New Year’s Eve performance in Miami that had fans talking.
In a recent interview with Shadow & Act, Haddish said fans can only expect so much from her — even after audience members heckled and booed the comedian with some even leaving the theater altogether.
“I’m going to make mistakes. I’m a human being, I’m not perfect and I never sold myself as being perfect,” Haddish said. “I never came out like, ‘I’m the most dopest, most wonderful.’”
Haddish continued, “You’ll never hear me say I’m the funniest person alive; you’ll never hear me say any of those things because I know there’s always somebody better. I’m always going to be learning, I’m always going to be growing and every human should think that way.”
In a video shared to Instagram ahead of the show, a hungover Haddish said ahead of her botched performance, “Not gonna lie to you…I partied all night. I partied all morning…Ciroc is still in my system.”
Haddish later apologized after clips of her performance went viral, which included footage of fans walking out and the comedian trying to salvage the show with a bottle of Ciroc.
“Yes, this happened,” she said. “I wish it was better, Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happen again.”
