After a night full of partying, Tiffany Haddish wasn’t ready when she performed for a sold-out Miami crowd on New Year’s Eve. The Girls Trip actress bombed, according to fans on social media, enduring loud boos, aggressive hecklers with even some fans walking out completely.
Haddish turned to social media, saying that she’s determined to do better during her 12-city She Ready tour.
“Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami,” she wrote Tuesday after news of her subpar show went viral. “I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened again.”Fans turned to social media to report that Haddish flat-out forgot some of the jokes that were supposed to be included in her set, instead reading some from an iPad. The rest of her comedy set, which included references to her mentally ill mother and the perils of celebrity, didn’t land as intended, attendees said. Reportedly, several fans even marched out of the venue as she was still trying to get her bearings on stage.Always one to opt for transparency, Haddish ahead of her show kept it honest with how she was feeling, and admitted to drinking and partying for the New Year’s holiday.“Not gonna lie to you…I partied all night,” she said in a drunken video on Instagram. “I partied all morning…Ciroc is still in my system.”
Onstage, however, Haddish tried to salvage the evening. According to NBC News, she eventually shifted her efforts towards just making sure everyone had a good time. She cracked open a bottle of Ciroc to share with some fans, and even invited some of the more vocal audience members up to try and see if they could do any better.“F–k it,” she declared. “I really wanted to talk about some stuff and can’t remember none of it.”
