Solange Knowles’ epic #blackgirlmagic reign shows no signs of ending. The singer’s new album “A Seat at the Table” is officially the number one album in the country. Can’t say we’re surprised, social media has been flooded with messages of joy and gratitude for Solange’s songs on identity, empowerment and healing.
And of course joining the chorus of fans is Solo’s doting mother, Tina Lawson, who took to Instagram on Wednesday night to congratulate her youngest daughter on snagging the top spot on the charts. She also took the opportunity to remind us that Solange has always been ahead of her time when it come to music — and fashion. She writes:
“I knew it! When you walked thru Sharpstown mall with Angie and everyone was laughing because you had on those platform shoes and Japanese prints stockings and mixed prints braids down past your butt. You didn’t care!”
