After launching her holiday fashion line with JCPenney earlier this week, Tracee Ellis Ross is set to host the American Music Awards this Sunday, and she plans to do it in style!
Coincidentally, the Black-ish star’s mom Diana Ross will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the show so it only makes sense that she’ll honor her mom in the best way possible: through her outfit changes.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ross said, “There will definitely be a lot of nods to my mom. There will be one special moment I actually get to bring out the nostalgia of a particular piece of clothing.” We can’t wait to see what the actress has up her sleeve on Sunday night.
Ross also admits that her iconic mom has definitely had an influence on her fashion choices, and that she often emulates her without even trying. “As we have seen through my career, just about everything I wear is paying tribute to my mom,” said Ross. “Her style influenced me in such a major way that I can’t help it. Sometimes I’m thinking I’m doing something so original and then I’ll see pictures of my mom and I’m like, ‘Oh.’ Basically I just copied an outfit of my mom.”
