15-month-old twins Ariel Roxanne North and Alaynah Maryanne North were found dead on Thursday after their father left them unattended in a hot car. He’s now facing two counts of involuntary manslaughter and charges of reckless conduct, and the girls’ mother Breal Ellis recently gave a heartbreaking interview to WSB-TV Atlanta.
“I was with them every day and the one day I left…I just want to tell them I’m sorry,” she said. “They didn’t deserve to die like that or to die, period, but I know they’re in heaven.”
In the interview, Ellis also told Channel 2 reporter Dave Huddleston that she was having trouble getting the money together for a funeral and had created a GoFundMe page.
According to WSB-TV Atlanta, Perry reached out to Huddleston after seeing Ellis on Monday night’s broadcast.
This isn’t the first time the actor/director has given back. In 2009, he sponsored a Disney World trip for 65 Philadelphia kids who had been shunned by a local swim club. And more recently, the Madea creator flew his staffers to Copenhagen to meet Beyoncé.
