Tyra Banks may be the boss when it comes to business, but she drops everything for son York.
Banks, who’s set to return to America’s Next Top Model, spoke to E! News about her son and her hectic schedule.
“I am a very hardworking momma and, hopefully, a good example to my son that momma works really, really hard and that’s how we have these things and we can travel and get on airplane, airplane, airplane, to go and see the world,” Banks told E! News.
“But at the same time with my hard work my son often comes with me. So I want him to see mommy’s world and to understand what she does, so that when he’s away from me he’s like, ‘Oh mommy’s with camera or is mommy in business suit meeting today?’ I want him to understand that and so I think he’s learning, slowly.”
Banks welcomed York via surrogate in January 2016 with former partner Erik Asla, two reportedly split in October. The model mogul has been busy gearing up for her return to America’s Next Top Model, replacing Rita Ora as host after turning over the reins to the UK singer for cycle 23.
Despite her busy schedule, Banks says that when it comes to taking care of her son, York is the boss. “Sometimes you just are exhausted. You want to sleep. Your baby has been up all night saying ‘Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!’ every three hours, but when it hits 5:45 and your baby is like, it’s time to play, it’s time to hang out, it’s time to wrestle on the floor, there’s no amount of tired where you say no.”
And, when it comes to having more children, Banks is coy, “We’ll see.”
