The last few months of my life have been crazy. I was filming a reality show and working right up until the delivery of my now newborn baby girl, Zaya Monique. She’s now 24 days old.
I was thinking about “going through” things in life, or should I say “growing through.”
This has been the most emotionally draining time ever in my career. We’ve been busy times before, but something about this last season felt so different.
We all have tests in life, and they show us who we are and where we are.
Do we crumble or fight through? Do we cry and complain through our situations? Or do we stand, fight, and stay focused hoping to see victory?
Victory makes it all worth it, right?
That’s where our focus should rest. Not on the problem or the pain. You can’t ignore your reality. Pain is pain and drama is drama – let’s call it what it is! But don’t stay there — acknowledge it now and call it what you want it to be.
Back to me and my sister being Mary Mary, mothers, wives, business partners, and women. It’s only the grace of God that allows us to make it through the craziness of our lives. We are so blessed and wouldn’t dare complain. But I would be a liar if I didn’t tell you that we both question why we do this at times!
We’re smart enough to know that we choose what we want to listen to. I refuse to only focus on the negatives and there will always be naysayers in life. We’ll never escape that, but we can choose what we focus on.
God is so awesome because just when questions fill our heads we’ll receive a testimony of something wonderful that’s so much bigger than an award or record sales… a soul changed or a life transformed by a song. It’s so rewarding to hear someone using our song to receive and accept healing in there mind and body. It makes it all worth it.
Sometimes I’m not sure who’s blessed and encouraged more: the fans blessed by the message and ministry in our music or us hearing the testimonies of courageous fans?
As you encourage us, we’ll keep encouraging you!
You’ve got to know it won’t be in vain, the things you’re growing through won’t take you out. It will all be worth it if you hold on and stay focused. Use God for your good. He will make you better.
